Mount Rainier Nordic Patrol
Mountain Rainier Nordic Ski Patrol is part of the National Ski Patrol (NSP) and is open to volunteer skiers, split boarders, and snowshoers supporting Mount Rainier's winter use season, which is typically December through April.
Nordic Patrol volunteers perform day patrols in and around the Paradise and Tatoosh areas on the weekends. Our patrols are focused on visitor contacts with an emphasis on preventative search and rescue guidance, setting and maintaining winter activity marked routes, minimum impact winter camping information and education of park regulations to skiers, snowboarders, showshoers and winter campers. We assist in search and rescue activities within the park when needed.
National Ski Patrol education programs offer you the chance to obtain world-class training. Learn about emergency care practices, search and rescue techniques, avalanche control, mountaineering, toboggan handling, and many other interesting and essential skills. The most rewarding part is taking what you learn and putting it to the test on the slopes!
Consider giving back to the outdoor community and volunteering with us!
